What’s new ? Focus on IYU massage robot by Capsix

Like its previous editions, the 2024 edition of the EquipHotel show was rich in encounters, conferences and discoveries. In addition to the usual equipment manufacturers and recognized cosmetic brands, this year it is the IYU® innovation that caught my attention. Nestled near the wellness lounge, the demonstration area dedicated to this articulated arm, that is already much talked about in the sector, was not to be missed. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance or the time to test it on site, but I will not fail to follow the development of IYU® in the coming months, in France and elsewhere, after a first successful implementation in Canada.

Developed by the Lyon-based start-up Capsix Robotics, after 8 years of R&D, this autonomous massage robot is obviously not intended to replace manual treatments provided by expert practitioners, but rather to complete their offer, for example at times when it is complicated to mobilize the workforce.

It also aims to democratize access to wellness services, with a lower price positioning than sessions that usually require the physical presence of a therapist.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the massage adapts perfectly to the morphology of each user, who chooses beforehand, on a digital interface, the parameters of his treatment: pressure, sound atmosphere, bed temperature, for a truly personalized and relaxing experience.

We will continue to follow with great interest the irruption of this promising technology in a market traditionally driven by humans and currently strongly impacted by recruitment and staff retention issues. Stay tuned…
